Good Morning and welcome to this week’s frigid edition of INSPIRATIONAL TIDBITS. Frigid? Come ON now, it only dipped into the 40’s. Some of us come from places where we really know how cold it can get. What we’ve done today is to try and give you some perspective as to what other folks do when the temperature drops. Check out this list and be grateful. 60 degrees: Miami residents turn on the heat 40 degrees: You can see your breath; Minnesotans go swimming 35 degrees: Italian cars don't start 25 degrees: Minnesotans eat ice cream; Canadians go swimming 15 degrees: French cars don't start; cat insists on sleeping in your bed with you 10 degrees: You need jumper cables to get the car going 5 degrees: American cars don't start 0 degrees: Alaskans put on T-shirts -10 degrees: German cars don't start; eyes freeze shut when you blink -20 degrees: Japanese cars don't start; Minnesotans shovel snow off roof -30 degrees: Swedish cars don't start; you plan a two-week hot bath -40 degrees: Minnesotans put on sweaters; Canadians button top button -50 degrees: Congressional hot air freezes; Alaskans close the bathroom window -60 degrees: Hell freezes over; Polar bears move South -70 degrees: Lawyers put their hands in their own pockets Well, it ain’t Howdy Doody time and it ain’t Mickey Mouse time - it’s BRAINSQUEEZER time. Make me proud. 1. What’s the most number of times in a year that you might see a lunar eclipse? ( one, three, six ) 2. How many major food groups are there? ( four; six; eight ) 3. Right now, about how many volcanoes are erupting on Earth? ( six; twenty; forty-four ) 4. Vinylidene Chloride Polymer is better know as ( superglue; saran wrap; spandex ) 5. The largest gold nugget ever found weighed about how many pounds? ( 14; 47; 173 ) TIEBREAKER: Approximately what percentage of shark attack victims die from the attack? 10% OBSCURE EXTRA BONUS QUESTION: There is something that happens to the human body called “horripilation” that has a much more common name. What is it? Goose Bumps I’m singin’ that tiebreaker song again. Today it was a 3-way tie among Stephen, Heather, and Mike V, who all got 4 right. In the end, though, it was STEPHEN who won it. Yep, he got the tiebreaker exactly right, where Heather & Mike both guessed 5%. Answers on that one went from 0.5% up to 33%. Kudos on that obscure question today, folks - Stephen, Jodi, James, Heather & Stacey all nailed it. Other answers included aging, getting a rash, sweating, sneezing, and “nightmares about your ex-wives”. Hey, whatever works for ‘ya. No skunks today, an easy week for you all from your benevolent Tidbits-Meister. Thanks for the interest and congrats to Stephen - see you next week.
